Teen Creative Photography Workshop: Monday through Friday, July 19-23, 1:00 to 4:00 PM Local artist Robert Osborn (www.robertosborn.com), whose photography retrospective will be on display at the Center through July, will instruct this course for teens.  Osborn began his photography career documenting BMX races in his publications BMX Action and Freestylin’, later showing his large-format fine art photography in museums and galleries, before switching gears to build Harley choppers.  Several years ago, Osborn’s love for photography was rekindled when he began experimenting with digital photography.  In this class, Osborn will cover technical components of digital photography (shutter speeds, aperture and ISO settings, exposure, depth-of-field, noise, white balance), as well as the creative side of photography…what raises a photo to the level of art.  Participants in this course will later show their most successful images in a juried exhibit at the Livingston Center for Art and Culture.  Judges will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, with the 1st place prize of a Nikon DSLR with an 18-200mm Nikon lens. Ages 12 and up Cost: $50 non-members; $45 members Min. class size 6; Max. class size 12

Small Format, Fine Art Photography Workshop: Saturday and Sunday, July 31st and Aug. 1, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM This workshop for adults, taught by highly successful and experienced photographer Robert Osborn (www.robertosborn.com), whose photography retrospective will be on display at the Center through July, will present a solid introduction to digital single lens reflex fine art photography. The Saturday session will cover the technical components (shutter speeds, aperture and ISO settings, exposure, depth-of-field, noise, white balance).  The Sunday session will address the creative side of photography…what raises a photo to the level of art.   Cost: $75 non-members; $65 members

On display will be fifty of Robert Osborn's luminous and stunning fine art photographs. These singular images have been selected by the artist from his more than forty years of photographing throughout the U.S. and Europe.
The show will be organized into three periods of his photography: Recent Work, The Large Format Years, and The BMX Years which will include approximately fifteen BMX and freestyle images from the seventies and eighties when he was considered the leading photographer of the two sports.

The photographs will be available for sale.

Recent information: The show is scheduled to go up on July 13th and the reception will be on July 23rd. July 23rd is Art Walk Evening in Livingston, a very popular Summer event in this small Montana town...all the galleries on Main Street are open and offer H'ordeurves and wine.
